Living the Life You Prayed For: Life After Corporate

Updated: Jul 7

How To Enjoy The Life You’ve Dreamed Of

It’s been eight years since I left the corporate world to start this business. This decision was not made lightly; it was the culmination of years of introspection, planning, and a deep-seated desire to align my professional life with my personal values and passions and start living the life I prayed for.

Leaving behind the familiar structure of a corporate environment meant stepping into the unknown, a leap that was both exciting and scary.

As an immigrant, leaving my successful corporate job was filled with unique challenges. Society can be unforgiving and harsh toward women like me when we dare to be bold and not conform to the status quo. The cultural expectations and societal pressures often dictated a path of conformity, where stability was valued over entrepreneurial risk.

Despite how hard I had to work to prove myself - leaving a comfortable job was not celebrated but judged and irresponsible. The whispers of doubt from others mirrored the internal fears I dealt with daily.

Transitioning from a stable salary to relying solely on my savings was hard, especially as someone who self-funded my business without any external financial support. Each day presented a new set of financial calculations, decisions about resource allocation, and the constant balancing act of investing in my business while ensuring personal survival.

As a person who cannot create and come up with ideas while - I'm surviving financial uncertainty. My safety net was thin, and the margin for error was even thinner.

There were days when doubt overshadowed my determination, and my path ahead seemed unclear. The isolation of entrepreneurship, coupled with the weight of expectations to succeed and to prove that I'd made the right decision, often led to sleepless nights and moments of profound uncertainty.

Yet, my soul's mission to serve and the deep connection to my spirit kept me moving forward. I found comfort in the small victories—the positive feedback from a client, the successful completion of a challenging project, the gradual growth of a supportive community in an industry I was just getting to know.

Just yesterday, after finishing with my last client, I sat quietly and felt a profound sense of inner wholeness and fulfillment in that ordinary moment. The journey had come full circle: the aspirations that once seemed distant were now my daily reality.

While I may not lead a luxurious life compared to some of my friends and peers, I find immense luxury in the peace and purpose that fill my days. The freedom to make decisions aligned with my values, and to witness the tangible impact of my work with my beloved clients are luxuries that no monetary measure can quantify.

Eight years later, I am living the life I once prayed for, but challenges and struggles remain. The challenge of entrepreneurship is ever-evolving, presenting new obstacles and learning curves.

Throughout these years, I’ve relied on many people—family, friends, clients and my beloved husband, who continues to be my number one cheerleader and the biggest fan of my work. Their unwavering support has been the foundation upon which I’ve built my resilience.

I cannot forget that one of my biggest guiding principles is to rely on and be led by my spirit of resilience, to listen and trust that inner whisper that reassures me I am on the right path. This inner compass has guided me through the tumultuous waters of self-doubt, external criticism, and the inevitable setbacks that accompany any meaningful journey.

Now I turn this back to you: What life have you prayed to have?

What steps are you taking to experience it?

If you're reading this and standing at your own crossroads—whether in life, work, or healing—know this: you don’t have to walk alone. The path of building something soul-aligned is not only spiritual, it’s energetic. It asks everything of us. And it gives us back everything we didn’t know we needed.

As a spiritual guide and mentor, I’ve come to believe that every meaningful pivot is also a sacred return—to purpose, to values, to self. Through holistic integrative coaching, I support those who are ready to reconnect with their inner compass and lead from the inside out.

This isn’t about pushing harder. It’s about pausing, cleansing, and choosing again. Through practices like energy cleanses, reflection, and ancestral healing, we release the internalized expectations, the weight of generational "shoulds," and the survival mode that dims our vision.

This is what I consider true wellness—not just the absence of illness, but the presence of peace, clarity, and the courage to live as the fullest version of yourself.

If you’re navigating a season of doubt or rebirth, may this remind you: the life you prayed for isn’t just possible. It’s waiting for you to say yes—again and again.

If you know a person who might benefit from this message, please feel free to share and amplify.

WITH LOVE,

Hasani
